PETERSEN MEDIA: In action at the Eldora Speedway and the Waynesfield Raceway over the weekend, Lucas Wolfe overcame wing slider issues on Saturday night to score an eighth place finish with the All Star Circuit of Champions.
Scheduled to run both the 360 and 410 at Eldora, the team elected to park the 360 car after time trials with engine woes, and focus their efforts on the 410, in which Wolfe timed the Mondak Portables/Rick Rogers Construction/Speedmart No. 9W in 11th quickest among the 37 cars entered in the event.
Lining up in the second row of his heat, Wolfe was able to get past Brandon Wimmer to take the third spot, where he would finish, and transferred into the evening’s feature event.
Lining up in the fourth row of the feature, Wolfe got off to a decent start, until the wing slider broke, allowing the wing to slide back and forth at will, making the car a handful.
Doing what he could to make laps, and keep the car out of the wall, Wolfe was able to hang on and tally an eighth place finish.
Friday night at Waynesfield, the team had issues, as they struggled all night, and ultimately failed to make the feature event.
