Destiny Motorsports and Paul McMahan Looking Forward To Final Two Nights At Winter Heat

PETERSEN MEDIA: Making their first three starts together at the Winter Heat Showdown, Paul McMahan and his new Destiny Motorsports team haven’t put up the results they were hoping for after three races, but McMahan and company aren’t ready to throw in the towel just yet.

“It is a new deal and it takes time,” Paul McMahan said. “Nobody has been happy with our results after the first three races, but it hasn’t been due to a lack of effort. Everyone has been working hard to get this thing right, and hopefully end this week on a high note.”

Dealing with steering issues on Friday night, McMahan was able to race his way into the feature event from the B, but would pull in early as he still wasn’t quite comfortable.

Back in action on Saturday night, a high pill draw would line the Elk Grove, CA native turned Nashville, TN resident up in the third row of his heat before picking up a fourth place finish.

Lining up third in the qualifier, McMahan would finish in the fourth spot and sneak the MonDak Portables/Ft. Union Supply and Trading/Benic Enterprises No. 7 machine into the feature event.

From the eighth row of the feature, McMahan would search around the speedway trying to get moving the right direction, but would end up finishing 21st.

After Tuesday night’s scheduled race was pushed to Wednesday due to rain, McMahan would line the Rick Rogers Construction/Maxim Chassis/Boss Signs and Graphics machine up on the front row of his heat race where he would run second to Kyle Larson.

Drizzly weather would blow over the speedway as the night progressed, but the show went on, though the track would be tricky. Finishing fourth in the qualifier, McMahan would again transfer into the feature event and he again would grid the field from the eighth row.

Battling with drivers like Logan Forler and Steve Kinser, McMahan would take the checkered flag with a 15th place finish.

“It’s new stuff from what I have ran the last few years, and the guys are working to get me acclimated,” McMahan added. “I have to thank my guys for their hard work and Rick and Barb Rogers for their support and giving me this opportunity.”

Destiny Motorsports would like to thank MonDak Portables, Ft. Union Supply and Trading, Benic Enterprises, Rick Rogers Construction, Maxim Chassis, Boss Signs and Graphics, Walker Perfomance Filtration, FK Rod Ends, Driver Websites, Petersen Media, KSE, Manufacturing, ButlerBuilt, Simpson Race Products, Parker Engines, Keizer Wheels, DMI, Red Devil Brakes, Champion Oil, All Pro Cylinder Heads, Astro Titanium, and Hoosier Tire for their support in 2016.
