Frustrating Weekend Has McMahan Poised For PA

PETERSEN MEDIA: A frustrating weekend in Indiana has Paul McMahan and his Destiny Motorsports poised to redeem themselves with the World Of Outlaws this week as the series is set to take on the ultra tough PA Posse.

“We just struggled all weekend in Indiana after wrecking last week at Eldora, and it really made for a tough weekend,” Paul McMahan said. “The boys went to work and hopefully we can come out strong this week in PA, we know their guys are pretty good on their home turf.”

Friday night at the Plymouth Speedway in Plymouth, IN, McMahan would rebound from a tough qualifying session to earn the final transfer spot into the feature event on a slick racing surface.

Finding himself back in the eighth row for the 30-lap affair, the fast paced event saw McMahan spend much of the night fighting for position inside the Top-15. Unable to really get his MonDak Portables/Ft. Union Supply and Trading/Benic Enterprises machine moving forward, the Nashville, TN driver would pick up a few spots as he finished in the 14th spot.

Heading into the Tri-State Speedway in Haubstadt, IN on Saturday night, a track that McMahan has had recent success at, he would time in 11th fastest in qualifying time trials. A fourth place finish during heat race action would put the Destiny Motorsports team in the sixth row for the 40-lap feature event.

On an extremely racy track, McMahan would struggle to find grip as he trended in the wrong direction as the race fired off. Once he settled in the feature, the California native would pick up a few positions as the race moved along, but was unable to find his way inside the Top-10 as he worked back into the 14th spot.

“It was just one of those weekends where you pull your hair out trying to find speed and drive,” McMahan said. “We had a stretch where we were getting pretty consistent, but unfortunately we didn’t have the consistency we wanted this weekend. We will keep at it, and see what we can do this week.”

Destiny Motorsports would like to thank MonDak Portables, Ft. Union Supply and Trading, Benic Enterprises, Rick Rogers Construction, Maxim Chassis, Boss Signs and Graphics, Driver Websites, Petersen Media, FK Rod Ends, Walker Performance Filtration, KSE Racing Products, ButlerBuilt, Simpson Race Products, Parker Engines, Keizer Wheels, DMI, Red Devil Brakes, Champion Oil, All Pro Cylinder Heads, Astro Titanium, and Hoosier Tire for their continued support.
