McMahan 12th During World of Outlaws Double Header Weekend

PETERSEN MEDIA: Heading to the Fremont Speedway and I 96 Speedway over the weekend, Paul McMahan and his Destiny Motorsports team picked up a pair of 12th place finishes.

“Right now we are just trying to change things on our car and see if we can’t get them better,” Paul McMahan said. “Some things work well, and some don’t, and last weekend things didn’t work out as good as we had hoped.”

Friday night at the Fremont Speedway, McMahan timed the MonDak Portables/Ft. Union Supply and Trading/Benic Enterprises No. 7 machine in seventh fastest in his qualifying flight before picking up a fourth place finish in his heat race.

Moving into the 40-lap ‘A’ Main, the Elk Grove, CA native would line up in the seventh row on an extremely slick Fremont Speedway racing surface. Battling with Kerry Madsen and Jason Sides at times during the race, McMahan would battle for a Top-10 position, but took the checkered flag in the 12th spot.

Saturday’s scheduled event at the I-96 Speedway with succumb to rain, and the event would be pushed back to Sunday night.

Timing in ninth fastest in qualifying time trials, McMahan’s fourth place finish in his heat race would place him in the sixth row for feature event. On an extremely fast and narrow surface, McMahan would settle into the 12th spot as the race came to life.

With weather threatening a caution on the 17th circuit would see the skies open up, and a rain shower would force officials to checkered the race and McMahan would cap his weekend with a 12th place finish.

“I am fortunate I have great car owners in Rick and Barb Rogers that are patient with us while we work through this,” McMahan said. “We are certainly not complacent with where we are running, and we are constantly trying to change things up and get better. I have to thank everyone that continues to back us and support us.”
