McMahan 11th at Wimot Raceway

PETERSEN MEDIA: Following a rain storm over halfway through Friday night’s program in Hartford, MI, Paul McMahan and the Destiny Motorsports team would follow the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series to the Wilmot Raceway on Saturday night where McMahan would finish in the 11th spot.

“We had a good night going through qualifying, our heat, and getting into the Dash, but we had to be careful tightening our car up too much, and it ended up biting us a little in the feature event,” Paul McMahan said.

With 33 cars checked into the pit area, McMahan would time the MonDak Portables/Ft. Union Supply and Trading/Rick Rogers Construction No. 7 entry in seventh fastest in qualifying time trials.

Lining up on the front row of his heat race, McMahan would battle with Daryn Pittman for the top spot, but would end up settling for the second spot which would still qualify him for the Dash.

Finishing fifth in the eight-lap dash, McMahan would line the Maxim Chassis/Boss Signs and Graphics/FK Rod Ends entry up in the third row of the feature event, on a surface that had slicked up and built up a pretty stout cushion.

From his third row starting position, McMahan seemed to run well in the opening laps, but his car would soon begin to get loose on him as the fuel load burned off. Running in the Top-10 much of the night, McMahan would drop back to the 11th spot when the checkered flag flew.

“Starting up where we were, we sure would have liked to finish up there but we just missed it a little,” McMahan said. “It was nice to have our full team back in the pits, and hopefully we can have a good weekend in Pevely, MO springboard us into Knoxville. Rick and Barb Rogers continue to support this, and I feel like we will get them to where they want to be soon.”

Destiny Motorsports would like to thank MonDak Portables, Ft. Union Supply and Trading, Rick Rogers Construction, Maxim Chassis, Boss Signs and Graphics, Driver Websites, Petersen Media, FK Rod Ends, Walker Performance Filtration, KSE Racing Products, ButlerBuilt, Simpson Race Products, Parker Engines, Keizer Wheels, DMI, Red Devil Brakes, Champion Oil, All Pro Cylinder Heads, Astro Titanium, and Hoosier Tire for their continued support.
