TMAC TUESDAY-5th at Jerry Richert Memorial

PETERSEN MEDIA: One week removed for a scary wreck at Lake Ozark Speedway that left him very sore, Terry McCarl was back up and running with the IRA Sprints and picked up a fifth place finish at the Richert Memorial on Saturday night.

“My plan on Saturday was to take it easy, but the guys gave me a great car and I had to go for it,” Terry McCarl said.

Having mechanical issues sideline him on Friday night in Superior, WI, the Destiny Motorsports team was in action on Saturday night at Cedar Lake Speedway.

Timing the MonDak Portables/Ft. Union Supply and Trading/TheSnowPlow.com No. 4 entry in seventh fastest in time trials, the Altoona, IA wheelman would pocket a second place finish in his heat race.

Lining up fifth in the feature event, McCarl had a great feel for his car, and rather then take it easy the veteran driver opted to mix it up. Working his way forward he would soon find himself in the Top-Five.

Battling with the likes of Brooke Tatnell and Mark Dobmeier, McCarl would still play it safe during much of the race as he capped the night with a fifth place finish.

“It was good to get back in the car and race, but I was definitely timid at times, which was hard because we had such a good car,” McCarl said. “I think the plan is to take the weekend off and rest up with some big stuff coming at the end of the year.”
